About the Role

Braven is seeking a program whiz and masterful facilitator with a demonstrated ability to win over others to join our newly formed City College of New York team as Program Manager, Accelerator (PMA). This role has the opportunity to be a part of a founding team, grow a regional program, and accelerate Braven’s national impact. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the PMA will be responsible for facilitating and fully leading the execution of the Braven Leadership and Career Accelerator course for ~250 students in the inaugural semester and up to ~1,750 students within three years, increasing their likelihood of graduating college with a strong first job or getting into graduate school.

The strongest candidates for this role have prior instructional or education experience and are extremely entrepreneurial. They are energized by public speaking and facilitation, thrive on human interaction and enjoy the challenge of meeting new people, “hosting others,” and serving as an ambassador. They enjoy planning events and executing on processes and initiatives and always have alternative solutions to offer in order to provide top-notch service to stakeholders. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Fully managing the facilitation and execution of the Braven Accelerator course at CCNY and lightly supporting the post-course experience. This includes but is not limited to:

• Execute and facilitate the Braven Accelerator course, in-person and virtually on weekdays, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. ET (2 days/week for 15 weeks per semester) along with 1-2 special events per semester typically held on Saturdays
• Operate with complete ownership over student outcomes; troubleshooting obstacles, utilizing data reports, and implementing solutions to maximize impact 
• Manage a team of Teaching Assistants to monitor students’ progress; track, analyze, and identify appropriate student interventions to ensure strong course outcomes tied to attendance, content engagement, and content mastery. 
• Hire, train, manage, and develop up to two student interns per semester to assist with the above responsibilities

• Craft compelling weekly communications through email, text and Discord that encourages student engagement, builds community, and ensures a high satisfaction and quality experience

Qualifications & Skills: Braven is looking for a dynamic facilitator, who is keen on developing strong relationships and quick to solve problems as they arise. You are bringing experiences and strengths like these:

• 2-4 years of experience in education, non-profit, or private sector with a verifiable track record of achieving excellence and successful outcomes
• Extreme comfort and experience with public speaking and facilitation 
• Proven ability to operationalize and manage project plans, solving complex problems, strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and cultural competence

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work in-person in New York City
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be fully vaccinated and have received the Booster vaccination against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Individuals may claim exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons. Exempted individuals will be subject to weekly testing if they engage in any in-person work activities.   

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $55,700 - $69,600. Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. Location

When social distancing is not in place, we gather in the office three days a week. Therefore, we require teammates to live within commuting distance of New York City. Each teammate will have two flex days to work remotely.  We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that happens when people work together face-to-face and we believe in giving people flexibility to focus, balance personal priorities, and save themselves two commutes per week.
