About the Role

Braven is seeking a masterful programmatic operator and facilitator with a demonstrated ability to win over others to join our Lehman College team as Program Manager – Recruitment (PMR). This role has the opportunity to grow a regional program and accelerate Braven’s national impact. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the PMR will be responsible for recruiting ~250 students in the spring 2023 semester and up to ~1250 students within two years into Braven’s Leadership and Career Accelerator course.


What You’ll Do

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Program Manager – Recruitment will work extensively with Lehman faculty and staff, Fellows, PAFs, volunteers, employer partners, and local organizations to contribute to the effective growth of Braven. Specifically, you will:

Student Enrollment - 80%

  • Develop vision, strategy, and tactics to effectively enroll in the Braven Accelerator course 250 students in the spring 2023 semester and scale up to 575 students per year
  • Use Salesforce to manage, track, and analyze recruitment data and pipelines, as well as use data to make strategic pivots 
  • Analyze recruitment data weekly to inform recruiting strategy 
  • Coordinate, execute, and support recruitment presentations and materials
  • Support cultivation and management of college partnerships and K-12 relationships including research, meeting preparation, data tracking, and communications
  • Share design input and feedback with Braven’s External Affairs team on marketing materials
  • Create social media calendar and posts to promote Braven brand on campus and to partners 

A+ Team/Management - 15%

  • Participate in individual annual and quarterly planning
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage 1 part-time student intern 
  • Contribute to NYC regional weekly tactical and stand up meetings
  • Attend weekly classes as needed to support program (virtual and in-person)
  • Observe weekly classes during first semester in PMR role to internalize Braven curriculum and experience (virtual and in-person)

Brand / Sustainability - 5%

  • Collaborate cross functionally to help build the Braven brand 
  • Represent Braven externally as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

The ideal person will be extremely driven, customer-service and results-oriented, entrepreneurial and highly resourceful. 

  • 2-4 years of experience with a verifiable track record of achieving student outcomes in college persistence, academic success, and/or career readiness
  • Proven ability to create, operationalize, and manage project plans, meeting milestones and deadlines
  • Track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance
  • Strong facilitation and public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and cultural competence
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree

  • Ability to work in-person in New York City
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Must be fully vaccinated and have received the Booster vaccination against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Exempted individuals will be subject to weekly testing if they engage in any in-person work activities.   

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $55,700 - $69,600. Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. When social distancing is not in place, we gather in the office three days a week. Therefore, we require teammates to live within commuting distance of New York City. Each teammate will have two flex days to work remotely. We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that happens when people work together face-to-face and we believe in giving people flexibility to focus, balance personal priorities, and save themselves two commutes per week.
