To date, 69% of Braven’s Fellows have landed a strong job or quality outcome within 6 months of graduation, as compared with the average of 54% for all students nationally.  Braven Fellows outpace their peers in internship attainment, non-cognitive skill growth, and college persistence. Braven currently operates in Newark, NJ, Chicago, IL, and San Jose, CA, and is launching in New York City. We aim to become the nation’s leading accelerator of diverse talent, putting 100,000 emerging leaders on the pathway to college completion and economic mobility. Our work is highly data-driven around the outcomes of college graduation; workforce readiness skills-based proficiency; employment in a high impact role within six months of graduation.

The Role:

You are responsible for recruiting 350 Fellows into the Braven course and supporting 600+ Post-Accelerator Fellows (students who have completed the course) towards strong post-career outcomes; recruiting 200+ volunteers that power our program; manages PAF interns and volunteers. 

 

Student Recruitment - 65%

  • Develop and execute the strategy for student recruitment, marketing, and cultivation campaigns

  • Manage full student recruitment operations/systems & pipelines (primarily in Salesforce)

  • Analyze recruitment data weekly to inform the recruiting strategy 

  • Organize and support recruitment presentations and materials

  • Support cultivation and management of university partnerships including research, meeting preparation, data tracking, and communications

  • Manage K-12 partnerships to support long-term recruitment efforts

  • Manage recruitment PAF interns and volunteers (including e-board) 

  • Share design input and feedback with the External Affairs team 

 

Volunteer Recruitment & Employer Partners- 10%

  • Lead all volunteer recruitment: Leadership Coaches, Professional Mentors, and Mock Interviewers, including outreach, communications, tracking, and systems

  • Lead all community partnerships for recruitment

  • Manage a portfolio of employer partnerships that power program

  • Support off-site program launch and logistics 

  • Represent Braven externally as needed

  • Share design input and feedback with the External Affairs team 

 

Post-Accelerator Fellow (PAF) Programming & Outcomes  - 15%

  • Manage the post-course experience to ensure 600+ PAFs are on track to secure strong internships and jobs

  • Lead Professional Mentoring programming (recruit PAFs, facilitate training, logistics, etc.)

  • Lead and recruit students for PAF workshops/events

  • Manage progress to goals tracking/reporting for student internship/job attainment, including monthly dashboard updates and annual Post-Accelerator Fellow Survey collection process

  • Design and manage student job referrals process 

  • Share design input and feedback with the Product team 

  • Share compelling stories with the External Affairs Manager and Executive Director 

 

A+ Team Operations 10%

  • Use and maintain team systems (tactical dashboard, Asana, Slack, etc)

  • Participate in individual annual and quarterly planning

  • Manage overall hiring process for PAF roles on Braven team (e.g. interns, TAs, e-board)

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage 2-3 interns

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage Peer Career Mentors

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage eboard President

 

Experience, Skills, and Traits:

The ideal person will be extremely driven, customer-service and results-oriented, entrepreneurial and highly resourceful, and excited to dive into an early-stage organization poised to change the educational landscape. At Braven we look for people who do what it takes and operate with humility and hunger.

 

  • 2-4 years of experience with a verifiable track record of achieving excellence and successful outcomes; 

  • Strong facilitation and public speaking skills;

  • Experience managing and developing people, particularly managing through others;

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills;

  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability, excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is comfortable with ambiguity;

  • Proven ability to create, operationalize, and manage project plans, meeting milestones and deadlines;

  • Data-driven manager: track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance;

  • Strong alignment with, passion for, and commitment to the mission and values of Braven;

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Staff who are meeting expectations generally receive an annual 3% increase. Braven conducts benchmarking every other year; based on this external data, some salaries may also receive market adjustments to keep pace with relevant competition in similar roles.
