Braven currently operates in Newark, NJ, Chicago, IL, and San Jose, CA, and is launching in New York City. Braven is seeking a Manager, Instructional Design to join us in elevating the Braven experience as we grow. They will own the instructional design for Braven’s flagship program, the Braven Accelerator, which is a semester-long, credit-bearing college course on leadership and career development. The Manager, Instructional Design will need to gain context quickly and iterate on our online content and in-person lesson plans to meet ambitious goals and improve the experience for Fellows and volunteer Leadership Coaches. You will collaborate with other designers, engineers, and regional team members to create a world-class, engaging experience for everyone that touches the Braven Accelerator, ensuring our Fellows end the semester with the skills, confidence, networks, and experiences to secure a strong postgraduate opportunity.

Experiences, Skills, and Traits:
4-6 years of experience designing clear, engaging, purposeful, and culturally competent online content and in-person learning experiences
Exceptional writer who expresses ideas clearly and simply and has strong design instincts
Experience in design thinking methodology and human-centered design
Competent in synthesizing different kinds of data - observations, user interviews, research, feedback, and quantitative data - to determine root problems and key improvements to make in instructional designs
In the midst of ambiguity and complexity, finds a way to move forward purposefully and decisively
Fluent with technology and experience creating content on learning management systems and content editors
Believes feedback is vital to your work and processes copious amounts of feedback productively
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence and motivate colleagues to execute designs
Ability to create, manage, and follow through on projects with strong attention to detail and deadlines
Highly motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, data-driven, and curious
Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to meet team goals and achieve impact
Entrepreneurial and excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented, start-up environment
Experience working with diverse populations
BA or equivalent degree required
Ability to travel 1-2 times per month, 15% of the year
